Jigar was born in Mumbai, India and came to the US in 2002 to earn a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University.

He presently works as a software engineer at Symantec Corp. He was diagnosed with AS in 2008, but began showing symptoms when he was in his late teens. His journey so far has taught him the importance of never losing the hope that things will get better. He wants this support group to be a means to spread this hope to many more people.

Jigar's hobbies are reading and acting. He is a part time actor and has acted in street plays and stage productions. He lives in Sunnyvale with his wife Dhara.
