Login Help

This guide is intended to help you gain access to the MEMBER AREA in case your login has failed. There are a number of common causes for a failed login that can be easily and quickly corrected (click on a link too jump directly to the information on each topic):

  1. Message Board Membership vs. SAA Membership
  2. Potential email address problems
  3. Potential zip code problems (U.S. and International)
  4. Did you join through the mail or by phone?
  5. Expired membership
  6. Browser privacy settings
  7. Clearing your browser's cache
  8. Firewall issues
  9. Norton 2008 Firewall issues
  10. Changing login information & further assistance

1) Message Board Membership vs. SAA Membership

SAA Membership is separate from Message Board Membership. To join SAA and gain access to the member area, please click here.

The message boards are free and you can click here to sign-up.

2) Potential email address problems

The most common reason for SAA Members to receive a "Could not find a matching record" error message is that an email address has been changed, or you are trying to login using a different email address than the one you used when you first joined. Please verify that you are using the email address you used when joining.

3) Potential zip code problems (U.S. and International)

Please verify that you are using the zip code of the address you used when you originally joined - and you only use the first 5 digits.

International users should use the first 5 characters of their zip code - including any spaces - when trying to login. For example, if your zip code is Y1A 3Y5, you would enter: Y1A 3

4) Did you join through the mail or by phone?

If you did not join online, there will be a delay in gaining access to the member area. If you joined by mail or over the phone and have already received your welcome package, please submit a Login Retrieval Request on the main login page.

5) Expired membership

SAA Membership and access to the member area lasts one year. If it has been over one year since you initially joined SAA, please click here to renew online today.

6) Privacy settings

Please make sure that you have the correct privacy settings in your browser. Cookies must be enabled to gain access to the member area. If you need a tutorial on how to check your privacy settings, please click here.

7) Clearing your browser's cache

In rare instances, if your browser's cache is extremely full, you may need to clear it in order to gain access. If you need a tutorial on how to clear the browser's cache, please click here.

8) Firewall Issues

If you have noticed difficulty entering the member area after downloading firewall software or after changing firewall setttings, your firewall may be blocking the site from adding the temporary cookie to your computer that allows access. Please adjust your firewall settings, turn off your firewall or contact the creators of your firewall software for assistance.

9) Norton 2008 Firewall Issues

If you are running Norton 2008, it may be blocking the cookie that will allow you member area access. To get around this problem without turning the firewall feature off, you need to go to Norton Internet Security and to the "Settings" bar. Click on "Norton Internet Security Options" and click "Personal Firewall." Then go to the "Trust Control" and add the spondylitis.org IP address - 207.158.45.231 - and list it as safe.

10) Changing login information & further assistance

If you are an SAA member and none of the above has worked, please fill out the Login Retrieval Request form on the main login page. Note that it is NOT an automated process and we will try and get your information to use as soon as we can.

If you wish to update your email address or mailing address / zip code for login and shipping purposes, please send an email to chris.miller@spondylitis.org
